After spotting this in the sale section in Superdrug for £1, needless to say I was very tempted to try this out. Especially knowing that even if it was crap and useless, it didn't break the bank!
Formula- I have to say, I was very surprised at the formula- it was very pigmented for a BB Cream and seemed to give good coverage but it did feel a bit heavy on the skin- probably just me though... It smelt pretty horrible when I applied it but I suppose people don't buy BB creams for their scent. I used it as a primer for my foundation, but it is perfectly credible to leave on its own due to the good amount of coverage. The formula definitely mattifies, and it gets rid of the excess oil on my combination skin. It is also meant to brighten, but I didn't really see any difference on my skin. However, despite it being an amazing product initially, it did come off my skin during the day and I would need to top up on powder as this will not keep everything in place the whole day so if you purchase this, be ready to top up during the day!
Packaging- While the tube may be convenient, I always find that too much product always comes out- maybe that's something they need to look into.
Claims- This BB cream had a lot of claims...
- Smoothes skin surface, not that I really noticed...
- Evens out skin surface, it got rid of my redness so I have to agree with this claim
- Conceals imperfections, it will conceal some but not all- you would still need some concealer
- Hydrates, can't really agree on this one, to be honest
- Brightens, can't really agree with this claim either
- Mattifies, YES!
- Protects, considering it comes off during the day, I doubt it...
- Fresh and natural finish, YES!
Value for money- The original retail price for this BB Cream is £4.99, which I suppose isn't at all bad for a BB cream but the fact I got it for £1 is amazing! Would I repurchase this? Probably, if I could get it for £1 again! Overall, I'd give this product about 6.5/10 to 7/10- I'm sorry okay! I couldn't make my mind up..
