Hey guys! About a week ago (oh, let's not start the Vine trend again) my Nan kindly gifted me quite a few beauty bits to try out and I couldn't be more grateful- especially at a time when my brain is incapable of thinking of blog post ideas. Today, I'm going to be trying out some products for the first time and feeding back my first impressions to you- I hope you enjoy!

Bourjois Smokey Eyes Eyeshadow Trio in 05, Rose Vintage
I'll be perfectly honest with you guys, it took me about 4 or 5 layers of swatching to get this pigmentation and its the same for your eyelid but when its on, your eyes look beautiful! This makes your eyes look really big and (with a primer, I'm not too sure without) they stay on all day with no need to touch up. I suppose it is a little pricey for the drugstore for what it is, and you can get much better pigmentation in cheaper palettes, it does give a really nice natural finish. It probably isn't something I'd repurchase but I do like it.
Bourjois Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara
I've tried a few Bourjois mascaras before and loved them so was super excited to try this one! I wasn't too keen on the wand, with its short but thick bristles and found that it was quite messy. It didn't do the best job for my lashes, leaving some clumps and it was really hard to work with, as it was a little dry. Would I repurchase this? No way!
Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp Ultra- Volume Mascara
Again, I was pretty excited to try this mascara out as Yves Rocher isn't a brand I've experimented a lot with. I wasn't as keen on this one as the other Vves Rocher mascara as I prefer my mascaras to give quite a dark-dramatic effect with lots of volume whereas this one was a lot more natural, with a more natural colour and lengthening the lashes. I feel like this mascara would be perfect for people just getting into makeup or wanting a really natural mascara that lengthens.
Yves Rocher Volume Vertige Mascara
From the minute I opened the mascara and saw the wand, I knew I was going to love it! The wand is amazing; while it's plastic, which some people may not be too keen on, I love its unique shape and how much it lengthens my lashes. The pigmentation isn't the best that I've seen in a mascara, but for the volume and length it gives my lashes- I don't mind! This is definitely staying in my mascara drawer!
Bourjois Liner Feutre Eyeliner
When I first swatched this on my hand, it looked like the worst eyeliner known to mankind, but when I pulled it out my drawer a few days later and used it- it was amazing. I don't know where it got back the pigmentation but as you can see in the swatch, it's super black (my hand looks photoshopped to death but I promise, it's just had the background whitened). It doesn't drag across your lid and applies really nicely, and I even prefer it to my Essence eyeliner pen, and that's saying something!
Maybelline Colour Tattoo in 55, Immortal Charcoal
Being one of, if not the, most hyped up cream eyeshadow in the beauty world, I knew I had to get my hands on one of these little pots sooner or later. The shade I got (or should I say, my friend kindly got) was 55, Immortal Charcoal. It's not a colour I'd go for everyday, but it would create a nice nighttime or special occasion lid shade! I was so impressed with these and the minute I finished my swatch and went to wash it off, it was one of the biggest challenges I've ever had in my life that is...aside from the gel eyeliner I bought in Year 5 not knowing that it was waterproof. Not only do they last forever and not crease, they're pretty much fool proof and can make you look stunning in 3 seconds. I will definitely pick up some more shades next time I'm in Superdrug!
Bourjois Happy Light Matte Serum Primer
Before using this primer, I went onto MakeupAlley which is my most trusted site for honest makeup reviews- I've even done a few myself! The reviews were not very good, with lots of people saying it made their makeup slide off but others saying its their holy grail. I found that it was quite a good primer in my case; however...I don't think it would suit people with oily skin as although it says it's 'mattifying', it doesn't do the job too great. It leaves a nice glow to your face but it doesn't make you look like you're sweating, which is key if you want to recreate a dewy makeup look!
