Why do I love blogging? Well... I love photography, and writing about the nooks and crannies of my makeup collection and (not as interesting as it may seem online) life. My blog is my creative outlet that I put my all into, some people can draw, others sing- I just blog! Wait... did you think I was done there? Through blogging, I have met some of the nicest people ever and, although this may sound biased, most bloggers are genuinely the most supportive and lovely people you will come across! As somebody that suffers with social anxiety, meeting and talking to new people is a daunting prospect, but I feel like my blog (and Twitter chats) have helped me become more confident. Finally, I can always buy a shit ton of makeup and excuse it with the fact that I can use the products for a blog post- what's not to love?!
However, however, however... blogging is by far one of the most time consuming hobbies I have ever had. To most readers, blogging seems quick and easy- all you have to do is write a post, take a few photos and that's it, right? Wrong! I am by no means exaggerating this, but a post takes me 1-2 hours to complete from: taking photos, to editing photos, to writing the post, to promoting the post, to spell checking the post and re-writing it. The list could go on and on! Also, when I first started by blog, I was very worried about not being taken seriously in the community because of my age (being that I was 13 at the time)- would you trust a qualified makeup artist or the opinion of a 13 year old girl? Now (although nowhere near as much as before) I still feel like there are times when some bloggers do talk down to me, as if I know absolutely nothing, and just makes me feel wound up- to be frank. Finally, I hate to say it, but there will be many people that don't want to interact with you because you have a lot less followers than them or are just in it for PR and paychecks. I'll be honest, there's a lot of money in it for bigger bloggers so why would they quit their blog and then have to go and get a day job? I'm not dissing bloggers who blog as their full-time job (no way!) but there are the always the odd few who seem as if they can't give less of a fuck about their blog if they tried.
If you are considering blogging, I would definitely reccomend making sure you have the time for it. Although your schedule for posting is completely down to you, posting and promoting (whether you like it or not) takes up a lot of time regardless! Also, you have to be motivated and stick at it; I was getting one, if not zero page views a day when I started my blog and am now in the hundreds per day- you should never expect the page views to just come to you, especially when you start out.

∙ Also, blogging really isn't as glamourous as it may seem. I take most of my photos with pyjamas on, no makeup and knotty hair I haven't had time to brush- glamourous enough for you?
∙Bloggers do not have perfect makeup everyday, or ever really. I may do a post about my tips for avoiding a cakey face, but that doesn't mean I won't have a day where I apply too much foundation and look like I've done the '100 Layers Of Foundation' challenge.
∙ Taking photos in the Winter seasons seems like the hardest thing when you don't have space for studio lights in your house- trust me...
∙Sounds cliche, but we really won't say we love a product if we don't love it- there's nothing worse than lying to people who trust you!
∙As much as I don't want it to be like this, I put a lot of pressure on myself to be consistent with blog uploads and know a lot of other bloggers do! Reality is, if you're consistent, people know when you expect posts and things are just a tad more organised...
∙ It's amazing, it really is! Choosing to start up my (second) blog was the best decision I've ever made!
