Although I forgot to include it in my New Year's Resolutions post, reading more is something I'd love to do in 2017- despite seeming stressed and strapped for time 24/7! I'm not the biggest reader, I'll have to admit, and I've had a fair share of books I couldn't finish as they just seemed to bore me- however, when I've found the right one, I can't put it down! So... want to see 5 books I want to read in 2017?

Eleanor & Park- Rainbow Rowell
My best friend actually introduced me to Rainbow Rowell, via her book 'Fangirl'- and boy did I enjoy it! 'Young Adult' books seem to be my favourite these days, with the likes of 'All The Bright Places', 'Looking For Alaska', 'Fangirl'- to name a few. I find that the storylines are often great and don't leave me fed up with the book 100 pages in!
So, as the blurb says of 'Eleanor and Park'...
"Eleanor is the new girl in town, and with her chaotic family life, her mismatched clothes and unruly red hair, she couldn't stick out more if she tried.
Park is the boy at the back of the bus. Black T-Shirts, headphones, head in a book- he thinks he's made himself invisible. But not to Eleanor... never to Eleanor.
Slowly, steadily, through the late-night conversations and an ever-growing stack of mix tapes, Eleanor and Park fall for each other. They fall in love the way you do the first time, when you're young, and you feel as if you have nothing and everything to lose."

The Perks of Being a Wallflower- Stephen Chbosky
I'll be honest... I was really meant to read this book in 2016- but never got round to it! Some of you may sit here rolling your eyes at me as I haven't yet read this book, but with so many good reviews... I'll make sure I read it this year!
Here's the description I found on Amazon for it...
"The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a deeply affecting coming-of-age story that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up. Now a major motion picture starring Emma Watson and Logan Lerman.
Charlie is a freshman. And while he's not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. Shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward, he is a wallflower, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it. Charlie is attempting to navigate his way through uncharted territory: the world of first dates and mix-tapes, family dramas and new friends; the world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite. But Charlie can't stay on the sideline forever. Standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor."

As somebody who is always stressing out about something, I feel like this book would be quite handy!
Again, here's the description I found on Amazon

If I Stay- Gayle Forman
So, this may be cheating (as I've already, technically, read half of the book) but as I haven't finished it yet, and probably won't in 2016, it's always something to read in 2017! I'm enjoying it so far but, although it's well written, it does tend to drag on a bit in some parts.
Thirteen Reasons Why- Jay Asher
The blurb reads,
"Clay Jensen returns home to find a strange package with his name on it. Inside he discovers several casette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker- his classmate and first love - who commited suicide two weeks earlier.
Hannah's voice explains there are thirteen reasons why she killed herself. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out why.
All through the night, Clay keeps listening- and what he discovers changes his life"
Sounds intriguing, right? This reminds me of 'The Fault In Our Stars', 'Looking For Alaska' and 'All The Bright Places' in that it touches serious issues, but it'll be interesting to read and see if I can compare this book to some of my all-time favourites...
