Kiko Super Gloss in 113- Metallic and glittery lips have been all the rage these past few months, with many brands releasing their own take on Kylie's Metallic Lip Kits that seemed to start a trend. I saw this gloss in the sale about half a year ago, and instantly fell in love! While it's somewhat subtle, giving off no added colour to lips, it's golden glitter particles give your lips the most stunning glowy effect in the sun. However, I was apprehensive about including this one for one reason- I can't find it anywhere anymore, such a shame!
Tanya Burr Cosmetics Matte Lip in Martha Moo- An improvement from my last staple, this one is still on the market! This shade is stunning, an ever so muted pink that I feel would suit any skin tone. Some of the pros for me included its fast drying time (I can't stand a liquid lip that takes about 10 minutes to completely dry) as well as leaving the gorgeous matte finish it promises, without drying! I found the wear time was fairly reasonable, although as expected... it did tend to wear off after a meal and drink!
MAC Kinda Sexy- This one's been seen a fair few times on my blog, so I won't ramble about it for too long. For me, I find peachy tones incredibly flattering on my skin- whether it be blush, lipstick or eyeshadow- so a shade like this earns a rightful place in summer makeup kit! As with all their matte formulas, Kinda Sexy has incredible wear time- despite being a tad drying. Nevertheless, it's comfortable to wear and definitely worth the money!
MAC Viva Glam I- I couldn't post a summer lip edit without including a gorgeous, bold red shade such as this one! Again, I've rambled about it for a while now- but again, it has an incredible long-wearing formula that will last through the greasiest meals. As well as this, it's comfortable to wear and not too matte to the point of cracking on my lips- perfect!
NYX Lip Lingerie in Ruffle Trim, 04- This one is a firm favourite of mine- partially for its amazing formula (you can read my full review here) but also for its stunning shade, a dark (ish) nude with red undertones. The only pet peeve I have with this is a slightly long dry-time, but other than that it's a great affordable option!
Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kit in Blowout- I was lucky enough to get this gem as a gift in Superdrug after spending a certain amount, but I'm not sure if it'll still be available as I think it was a limited edition kit (cue the research!). Nonetheless, this is a gorgeous bold fuchsia shade that I'm sure you can find from other brands if not! I'm not sure whether it's quite the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit dupe it paints itself out to be (as I haven't tried them), but I do have to say I love the formula. At first, I wasn't so sure about the lightweight consistency that felt ever so strangely like I was putting nothing at all on my lips- but it dried down nicely, and was an absolute nightmare to get off... which I suppose could be a good thing on a night out or for events when you need makeup to last!
So, those are my summer picks- but what are your favourite lip products to use in the summer? Let me know in the comments down below!
