The Shortlist...
I'm astonished at how I have not yet mentioned this palette on my blog; this is honestly such a stunning product- from the amazing, even pigment to how well the shades blend! For those of you who aren't aware, it's supposed to be a dupe for the Naked 2 palette, but I can't give you my word as I don't own the Naked 2!
2True All Over Natural Bronzing Powder:
If you've been here since the beginning, I'm sure you're all more than aware of this bronzer from the amount of times I've mentioned it! It may be edging towards being a tad too warm-toned, but it has the perfect amount of pigment for a bronzer, applies evenly, blends really nicely and actually lasts on my face. That... and I also got it for £1 in Superdrug when 2True were stocked!
Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Golden Lights:
Now... if there's one thing you ought to buy from this list, it's this highlighter! Trust me when I say that this highlighter does not fool around- the pigmentation is incredible and is not for the faint-hearted or for natural looks- especially due to its shimmer! Also, this shade is to die for- that is... if you're into your golden, warm toned highlighters.
NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray:
If, like me, you like to drown your sorrows (and your makeup) in setting spray- I've got you covered! As somebody that suffers with rather dry and dull skin in the Winter, it's lovely to have some radiance and life put back into it- and that's exactly what this spray does, as well as locking my makeup in all day! It's not the largest bottle, I have to admit, but it does the job and saves my bank account by not having to buy MAC's Fix Plus or Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation:
It's fair to say this foundation surprised me! If you want to see my full impressions post on it, you can click here (nothing like a bit of shameless self promo...) but to put it simply... if you're looking for a full coverage, heavy-duty, flawless foundation that doesn't dry skin out- this is the one for you! However, I have to mix this foundation with a lighter one due to the shade range for us paler girls being absolute shite (please, Rimmel, bring out some lighter shades!) which is incredibly annoying.
NYX HD Studio Finishing Powder:
Oh, wait, didn't I do a post on this product too (inserts shameless self promo here)? Admittedly, I'm not entirely head over heels for this powder, but it is the best powder I've found in the drugstore- if you don't put too much on, that is! Again, to put it simply, it's the only powder that will actually set my makeup as well as not drying me out like crazy!
NYX Lip Lingerie Review:
If you haven't tried these- where have you been?! There has been so much hype surrounding these liquid lipsticks, and I can understand why!.Although they're matte, they're comfortable to wear on the lips, aren't very drying at all and stay on like no other!
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer:
I've recently ran out of this concealer and would happily throw away my MAC Pro Longwear in return for this- it's so much less drying! Like the Rimmel foundation, the shade range for us paler girls isn't at all great- but it's so creamy, non-drying and the coverage, oh the coverage! However, the applicator is disgusting, I'm sorry Maybelline but how unhygienic is it?!
Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base:
For some reason, I've never really seen this primer been given the time of day and it's such a shame! I find that this primer really does cover up my veins, makes my makeup stay on longer and wave goodbye to creasing! It is quite dark and orange but I suppose if you're applying eyeshadow on top, it doesn't make too much of a difference!
Maybelline Lash Sensational:
Again, if you haven't heard about this mascara, where have you been? This mascara is probably the most hyped mascara on YouTube and in Bloggosphere and I have to agree. Admittedly, it's not as good when it's fresh as when it's been opened for a while, but the amount of volume and length it adds to my lashes is unreal!
