Oh we've all be there, haven't we? While I still get the odd cakey day, I don't walk around like the epiphany of my Year 8 self who thought packing on as much powder as she could on her face was a good idea (that and the excessive eyebrow filling in)! Recently, I've found quite a few tips to help combat everyone's favourite cake face and hope that some of these help!

If you find your nose looks cakey and foundation wears off, use an eye primer instead of a normal primer!
I found this tip through YouTube and love it! For the most part, I find that it makes my foundation stick all day long and it doesn't look cakey and horrible. All you do for this tip is do your normal skincare routine, but just avoid using any other type of primer on your nose and then use an eye primer, I like to use Urban Decay's Eden but you can use whatever works for you!
Instead of applying primer before foundation, mix them together!
This is by far my favourite tip, it just makes your foundation look that much healthier and glowy! Yes, it will change the consistency of you foundation so I don't know if this will work as well for all you oily girls out there- but why not give it a try anyway?
Spray your Beauty Blender/sponge with setting spray and pat your cakey areas!
If drowning your entire existence with setting spray wasn't enough, you can always try lightly spraying (only one or two sprays) your beauty sponge and gently pat your cakey areas. This tip doesn't make the biggest difference ever, but it definitely helps!
Instead of combating shine throughout the day with powder, use a blotting sheet or a tissue!
I find that if I keep topping up my face with powder, it may combat shine but it makes me crazy cakey so why not try this instead? I find that this is also great if you put on too much powder when applying your makeup as it gets rid of all the excess product!
Creasing/caking concealer? Why not dab a tiny bit of face cream on it?
I've been doing this for well over a year now, and I find that it does help a tiny bit! I tend to find that it smoothes my concealer out, becomes a lot less dry and looks a lot more flawless.
