In Kiko, I picked up the Face Make Up Fixer, which was an absolute bargain- but being the pro blogger I am, threw away the receipt so couldn't tell you the sale price; though it currently retails for £7.90. Aside from Urban Decay's All Nighter, this has become my new favourite setting spray! What I like, is that unlike like most setting sprays, the mist is incredibly fine and feels like hairspray, but for your face! This spray just gets the job done, and keeps your makeup in place. If it wouldn't smell of hairspray, I'd probably rate it a 10/10!
Also in Kiko, I picked up the Super Gloss in 113- which cost £1.40, so I really couldn't resist! I'll be honest... this hasn't had all that much wear as, for somebody who goes to school 5 days a week, a lipgloss with specs of gold glitter really isn't my forté. However, on top of a liquid lip or even on its own, it does add something special to a look! Its formula is okay, but not something worth fawning over- in my opinion. The specs of glitter are hard to remove, but staying power of the gloss itself isn't amazing, along with the pigment. Though, it isn't sticky and does look gorgeous on the lips! Overall (especially considering its price), I'd give it a 7.5/10!
Next, I made a trip to Superdrug, and picked up the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer- which I had last year and fell in love with! Though its not amazing (and quite old!), I have a full review on it which you can read here- but to sum it up... it blends well, doesn't crease heavily or go cakey. I would definitely recommend this concealer, providing you aren't too pale- as even the lightest shade is quite dark!
I also picked up the Makeup Revolution Golden Lights Highlighter- which you're probably sick of hearing about on this blog now, as I mention it so often! Without exaggerating, though, it is the best highlighter I have ever tried! Not only is it dead cheap, at £3.00, but also incredibly pigmented and lasts all day long. This one is easily a 10/10 for me!
On another occasion, also from Makeup Revolution, I picked up the Focus and Fix Eyebrow Shaping Kit in Light/Medium. This kit isn't for the faint-hearted, or those who want a natural brow by any means, as the powders are super pigmented and if applied with the wax, will make those brows stand out! I have mixed thoughts on this kit... The reason being, though super pigmented and long lasting, the product is easily visible on the brow and up close, it's not a great look! However, as it includes: 3 powders, 1 wax, a pair of tweezers and a mini angled-brush, it offers incredible value for money and is perfect for on the go! I'd rate this product a 7/10.
Then, I went to Boots and finally picked up Soap & Glory's Supercat Eyeliner- about time, don't you think! With an overall 4.5 star rating on the Boots website, I had high hopes for this eyeliner- and it delivered! Aside from the fact that it tends to smudge around my tear duct area, this eyeliner is perfect! Unlike other eyeliners that I've tried, this one doesn't feather or bleed, lasts all day and really is carbon black, like its name suggests. I'd give this eyeliner a 9/10!
Finally, saving the best until last, I stopped by the YSL Counter in a House of Fraser store and couldn't help but pick up the Touche Eclat Le Teint Foundation. While my bank account cried at the £33.50 price tag, my face certainly didn't- as it is by far the best foundation I have ever tried! Though I'm into the whole full-coverage wanna Barbie look, I love the watery consistency this foundation has whilst delivering a medium, yet buildable coverage! What I love more, however, is how well it works with my dry skin- giving me the dewy glow from within I so crave. Honestly... the only thing I can fault is its price tag, and I'll happily give it a 10/10!
