It was this time a week ago that I was on a flight back from Milan, Italy- crazy how quickly time flies! Milan was the main focus of our trip, spending 3 out of 5 days there, but we also took a trip to Venice and Como, Bellagio and so forth... Without rambling, if want to see and read about some of our holiday antics it's time to click the 'Read More' button!

It goes without saying that my parents and I took a trip to 'Duomo di Milano', the church whose beauty I was not quite prepared for! Not only can you peep inside the church and its stunning architecture, but you can also climb (or take a lift) to the top of the church and witness the breathtaking views of Milan. If you're planning to come here soon, you should either book tickets in advance, or come close to the opening time as otherwise... you'll have an hour (or longer) waiting time to look forward to!

Ah shopping, there's plenty of it in Milan! Look no further from Duomo di Milano (as well as the Piazza) and you'll see an array of shops to suit all budgets- Sephora, Bershka, H&M, Prada, you name it! Me? Well I picked a few items up, but those will be shown in a later post!

Another point of interest in Milan has to be the Leonardo Da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology. Now, we originally thought to come here for a couple of hours- but let me tell you... the sheer size of the museum allow's for an entire day out in itself!
While I (originally) had my doubts about whether I'd enjoy it... I got a pleasant surprise. Not only does it offer good insight into Leonardo Da Vinci's inventions, but there were plenty more fascinating displays involving early-stage computers, radios, aviation, steam trains, and even an entire submarine to name a few! For all of you science, technology, aircraft... enthusiasts, this museum is a must!

Another one of our destinations was Castello Sforzesco, which is a rather unusual and interesting castle- dare I say? While we didn't actually visit the museums inside, we could still take a walk around the castle and appreciate (as well as take photos, of course) of the structure- along with the gorgeous fountain that sits right outside the entrance!

Perfect for a break from the city is Parco Sempione, which (you guessed it) is a beautiful, well-maintained park. From the odd sight of turtle upon turtle to the Arco della Pace nearby, it's the perfect place to sit down, have a picnic and simply relax!

Ah Venice, where do you get me started? Despite the weather being a bit topsy-turvy at the start of the day, everything seemed to brighten up and the true beauty shone through!
The biggest attraction in Venice, quite clearly, is Canal Grande- which is what Venice is all about. While we didn't go on the water itself, it was more than easy to appreciate the beauty in this town! If you do want to go on the water, though, be aware of prices! Taking a gondola, which is the most well-known form of transport is Venice, can be pricey business- costing 80€ for half an hour. However, there are plenty more forms of transport- one of which is a water taxi, which happen to be remarkably cheaper (20 euros for an all day pass or 7.50 for a one way journey).
There is plenty more to see, though, including St. Mark's Square- which is a lovely place for some photos, as well as feeding the countless number of pigeons! Seeing as we were only in Venice for a day though, it's fair to say we didn't get round to too much other than walking around the town!

On our final day, before going back home, we decided to have a little road trip to the village of Bellagio, town of Como and surrounding areas. Admittedly, I didn't get many photos here and am a bit gutted for that reason- but to be perfectly honest, no photo can fully show the natural beauty of these areas. Away from the hustle and bustle of Milan and Venice, these towns were a perfect getaway for us and plenty of other tourists!
